Ordered parts, good service

My son needed a new ESC unit for his Blackout XTE. I found the part easily on the site and ordered it. Shipping took 6 days to get to us in Nevada. The part was exactly what we needed and fit perfectly. I had a quick question about installation and used their online chat; the rep was helpful and knew their stuff. Overall, a smooth experience getting the replacement part.

FiftyNine Lowrider purchase

I ordered the FiftyNine Lowrider a few weeks ago. The ordering process was straightforward on their website, no real hiccups there. It shipped out pretty fast, but it did take almost 8 days to reach me in Florida, which felt a bit long. The lowrider itself is great, really detailed, and performs as advertised. I had a minor issue with one of the hydraulic kits not responding quite right out of the box. Their customer service was okay, they eventually helped me troubleshoot it, but it took a few emails back and forth to sort it out. Value for money is there, but a bit quicker support response would make it better.

Good quality, fast delivery

I bought a Redcat Volcano EPX. It arrived in 4 days which was pretty quick. The car itself works well and was easy to get running. No issues at all.

Are these Redcat cars actually hobby-grade? Or are they more like toy store stuff you'll break instantly? Looking at the Kaiju EXT.

M Megan B. 3 months ago
Definitely hobby-grade. They're built to be bashed and repaired. You'll find tons of parts for them, unlike those cheap toy ones.

Yup, totally hobby-grade. My Everest-10 has taken a beating and still runs great. You can upgrade parts too which is cool.

Are the Redcat Racing vehicles like the Blackout XTE waterproof? Or do I need to be super careful around puddles?

N Neil 3 months ago
Some models are more water-resistant than truly waterproof. I wouldn't go submerging it, but light splashes should be fine for most of the electronics. Always check the specific model's description though.

They're usually 'splash resistant' but not full-on waterproof. You'll probably be okay with some wet grass, but avoid deep puddles if you want to keep your electronics happy. I've had to replace a servo after a bad splash.

Does Redcat Racing offer a military discount? My buddy was asking, he's looking for a new monster truck.

M Mark Carter 3 months ago
Yeah, they do. He'll need to verify his military status, I think through some online service, but it's legit.

Yep, my brother used his military discount last year on a Volcano EPX. It's usually 10-15% off, I think.

Can you stack discount codes? Got a first-time buyer one and saw something about a holiday sale, wondering if I can combine them.

A Andre 2 months ago
Nah, pretty sure it's one code per order. Tried it before and it didn't work for me.

Just one promo code, unfortunately. You usually have to pick the better deal.

Thinking about getting the Marksman, but also eyeing something from Traxxas. How do Redcat's crawlers compare to Traxxas ones?

M Marcus 2 months ago
Redcat's crawlers, like the Ascent, are really solid for the price. Traxxas has some good stuff too, but Redcat often gives you more bang for your buck on the crawling side, especially for beginners.

Traxxas is great, but Redcat has really stepped up their game. For crawling, Redcat's Gen8 and Ascent models are super capable, often for less cash. Parts availability might be a bit better for Traxxas though, just because they're bigger.
